    Class VIII Final Exams and Early Dismissal

    Class VIII will begin final exams on Friday, May 31. Each day of their exams, they will be dismissed after lunch at 12:30 p.m. The exam dates are as follows:

    Friday, May 31: History Exam
    Monday, June 3: Science Exam
    Tuesday, June 4: English Portfolio Presentation
    Wednesday, June 5: Math Exam

    From June 3 to June 7, Class VI will participate in a week-long learning investigation of the forces that affect a vehicle’s motion. Students engage in a series of explorations that help them identify the variables that affect motion and create a car that is optimized for several types of races to run on a special 45-foot long track that will be installed in our Lion’s Den.

    From June 3 to June 7, Class VI will participate in a week-long learning investigation of the forces that affect a vehicle’s motion.   • 12:30 p.m. dismissal for Classes VI, VII, and VIII

    Commencement for our seniors will take place on Tuesday, June 4, at 1:30 p.m. at the Church of St. Ignatius Loyola on Park Avenue and 84th Street. In order to allow enough space for families of the graduates, Upper Mid students will not attend commencement this year. Classes VI, VII, and VIII students will be dismissed from 97th Street at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 5, after eating lunch. There will not be any after school activities that day including study hall, School of Rock, and after school math help. There will not be a shuttle to 82nd Street at dismissal.

    The Nerdy Derby, Field Day, and our Upper Mid awards ceremony are held on June 7, which is our last day of school. Summer vacation begins after a regular 3:15 p.m. dismissal. On June 7, there will be no after school activities and no 5:30 p.m. shuttle.
