Class VI Is Broadway Bound!

This year, our dance program rose to new heights with the launch of Class VI Broadway Bound. Under the talented leadership of Marymount's dance teacher, Carol Johnson, and music teacher, Jon Fuller, eight dedicated students participated in a performing arts intensive after school with a focus on musical theater, and specifically, the discipline of dance. The girls began their eight week journey with a professional shoe fitting for tap and jazz shoes by a Capezio representative. The next seven weeks of rehearsal were dedicated to learning the history and importance of dance as a reflection of the ages and its representation in musical theater. With focus and determination, the girls mastered the skills of jazz, swing, waltz, and ballet. They also learned several songs and honed their acting skills in an original performance entitled, "I Got Rhythm." The show was a huge success, and the cast shined brightly for their performance on October 29. These girls are truly Broadway Bound!
