At the end of April, Class VII performed "American History,” an integrated project between speech and history. Girls told the story of early American history from Columbus to the Revolution in a series of humorous skits and songs. Some of the highlights included a parody of Columbus discovering America with a fresh, more historically accurate, take on "A Whole New World," a detailed spring fashion preview for pilgrims, and a news segment that informed the audience of the trials and tribulations of the Jamestown settlers. Students rewrote the lyrics to popular songs like "Uptown Funk" and "Cheerleader" and performed them for a delighted audience of parents. The material for each sketch came primarily from their history curriculum, but each piece was written and choreographed entirely by the students.
