In the Heights
On April 12-14, the Marymount Players took us to Washington Heights with an outstanding production of In the Heights by Lin-Manuel Miranda. The cast of 40, comprised of Marymount Upper School students and boys from Regis and Fordham Prep, told this story of immigration, family, identity, and the Latino community with extraordinary talent. The cast rehearsed for several months, learning how to sing, dance, and create authentic characters.  The student set/tech crew worked tirelessly backstage on costumes, sets, props, lights, and sound to make sure everything ran smoothly. The orchestra, led by Virginia Pike and Jon Fuller, brought salsa, hip-hop, and musical theater sounds to life. The show was directed by Laura Pietropinto, choreographed by Greer Gisy, and produced by Drama Chair, Rita Pietropinto Kitt.
