Assistant Teacher (Lower School: Grades N-2)

Marymount School seeks dynamic aspiring assistant teachers who love working with children and have earned at least a bachelor’s degree (not necessarily in education) and are eager to be mentored by expert teachers. Assistant teachers need to be open to growth and interested in learning. They work directly with the homeroom teacher on all aspects of the curriculum and also accompany the students to specials classes. Experience with Responsive Classroom, the Teachers College Reading and Writing Program, Handwriting Without Tears, and Singapore Math are helpful but not required. This is generally a one- to two-year position. This is an excellent way to begin your teaching career in a supportive and innovative community.
