An Interschool Arts Collaboration

This year, students in Classes VII and VIII were invited to participate in Broadway Bound, a new arts program with the Saint David's School. This joint-school venture brought students interested in musical theater together in an after-school program two days a week from January-May. After much hard work, they presented Andrew Lloyd Webber's Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at Saint David's new theater, the Otto-Bernstein Performance Center, on May 14 and 15. In addition to honing their singing, acting, and dancing skills, the students formed important friendships through the rehearsal process and learned valuable communication, improvisation, and conversational skills. Marymount is delighted to revitalize this performing arts collaboration that existed decades ago between the two schools and to announce that Broadway Bound will be an annual interschool tradition for our Upper Mid students for years to come.
