Marymount Players Present Shrek the Musical
When the spring production of Shrek The Musical
was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Marymount Players did not let it dampen their spirits! Since January, the cast and crew have been working hard rehearsing music, choreography, and scenework. In March, they took their rehearsals online and made at-home videos of select songs from the show. In the true spirit of theater, they believed "the show must go on!" On what would have been opening night, Marymount alumnae from past productions offered congratulations to the cast and shared memories and tributes to the seniors. The cast also hosted a Zoom viewing party of the videos they made to celebrate their accomplishments.
Marymount is grateful to our drama students and teachers for always sharing their talents to lift the spirits of our community. We would like to thank Musical Directors Ms. Pike and Mr. Fuller, our Choreographer Ms. Patmon, our Assistant Director, Ms. Winsch, our Drama Chair Ms. Pietropinto Kitt, and our director Ms. Pietropinto for their dedication to our students. Finally, the Marymount Players would like to dedicate these virtual performances to our hero, Mrs. Alvar, and the Class of 2020.
