A Young Woman of Distinction
A big congratulations to Lindsay F. ‘22 who was recently named a Young Woman of Distinction 2021 by the YWCA of Darien/Norwalk
in recognition of her leadership and community involvement. Lindsay was chosen for her leadership in Scouts BSA, where she serves as the Senior Patrol Leader of Troop 219, leading a group of middle school girls. She was elected by her troop to the Order of the Arrow, a Scouting Honor Society. Lindsay is also the first female to earn the rank of Eagle Scout in Darien. For her Eagle service project, she chose to organize teams of volunteers to paint bright yellow markings on telephone poles around the town of Darien to help fire departments locate fire hydrants more quickly in an emergency. A passionate fire safety advocate, Lindsay also serves her community by volunteering as a probationary firefighter at the Noroton Heights Fire Department in her hometown of Darien, Connecticut. As one of the only active females, she has supported and mentored three new female recruits at the department.
We are very proud of Lindsay for her determination in pursuit of ambitious goals, her commitment to female empowerment, and the positive example she sets for other girls in her community. Brava, Lindsay!
