FACULTY POSITIONS Lower School Head Teacher (Gr. N-2)
Marymount School seeks an experienced head teacher (gr. N-2) to lead a Lower School homeroom. A master’s degree is required. In the Lower School, head teachers are the lead instructors for mathematics, language arts, and social studies, and serve as mentors to their assistant teachers. With a 1:1 iPad program, all Lower School educators are expected to be adept at using interactive technologies for lessons, activities, and assignments. Experience with Handwriting without Tears, Teacher's College Reading and Writing Workshop, Singapore Math, and Responsive Classroom a plus.
Lower School Assistant Teacher (Gr. N-2)
Marymount School seeks dynamic aspiring head teachers who love working with children and have earned at least a Bachelor’s degree (not necessarily in education) and are eager to be mentored by expert teachers. Assistant Teachers need to be open to growth and interested in learning. They work directly with the homeroom teacher on all aspects of the curriculum and also accompany the students to specials classes. Experience with the Teachers College Reading and Writing Program, Handwriting Without Tears, and Singapore Math are helpful but not required. This is generally a one- to two-year position. This is an excellent way to begin your teaching career in a supportive and innovative community.
Lower Middle School Head Teacher (Gr. 3-5)
Marymount School seeks an experienced head teacher (gr. 1-6) to lead a Lower Mid (gr. 3-5) homeroom. Experience teaching lower school or middle school aged children is a requirement, and ideally the candidate holds a master's degree in a specialized subject and/or in education/pedagogy. In the Lower Mid division, head teachers are the lead instructors for mathematics, language arts, and social studies, and opportunities to serve as reading group instructors may be available. With a 1:1 iPad program, all Lower Mid educators are expected to be adept at using interactive technologies for lessons, activities, and assignments. The position includes teaching language arts, social studies, and mathematics. Experience with Singapore Math and the Judith Hochman approach to expository writing a plus.
Latin Teacher, Upper School (maternity leave)
Marymount School seeks an experienced educator for a fall 2019 maternity leave replacement to teach four levels of Upper School Latin: from Latin I through Advanced Poetry. Marymount uses the Cambridge Latin Course/reading method for levels I-III, and the advanced class is a poetry survey course. Facility with a broad range of pedagogical practices is expected, including the willingness and ability to teach with varied technological tools. Master's degree preferred. The position is full-time from September 1-December 31 and includes non-teaching responsibilities typical of independent school teachers (advisory, club moderator).
Director of College Counseling

Food Prep / Utility Position, Food Service
The Food Service department at Marymount School of New York, an independent, Catholic girls school, seeks a food service prep/utility staff member. Duties include light food / salad bar preparation, pot/pan washing, recycling/trash removal, maintaining cleanliness of kitchen, and organization/stocking of deliveries.
