Mission & Vision

In 1926, Mother Marie Joseph Butler (RSHM) founded Marymount New York to educate both the hearts and minds of young women and provide for each student’s total growth – intellectually, spiritually, socially, and physically. In a values-centered and mission-driven environment, Marymount empowers young women to be confident, courageous, compassionate leaders who are agents of change in the world.

Campus

Composed of three adjoining landmark mansions at 84th Street and Fifth Avenue, our flagship campus offers a beautiful yet cozy home away from home for our younger students in Nursery-Class V. Marymount’s state-of-the-art second home opens in September 2023 on East 97th Street and expands the academic, athletic, and artistic programming for Classes VI-XII. Two classrooms in The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Central Park, and other New York City sites create an extended campus for Marymount students.
