Concepcion R. Alvar
Headmistress
Appointed Headmistress in 2004, Concepcion Alvar is a visionary leader who inspires authenticity and creativity in everyone around her. Previously Concepcion had served for thirteen years as the Director of Admissions and three years as a head teacher. She also served as the Director and Supervisor of Marymount Summer for sixteen years. Mrs. Alvar holds a B.S. from Maryknoll College (Philippines) and an M.A. from Columbia University, Teachers College. Her unwavering dedication and risk-taking spirit, in collaboration with the Board of Trustees and the administration, enable her to set and achieve ambitious goals for the School.
