Welcome from the head of School
Marymount School of New York was built on the bold dream of our founder Mother Marie Joseph Butler: to prepare young women to challenge, shape, and change the world. It is a school where tradition and innovation walk hand in hand; where students are inspired to ask bold questions, think deeply, and solve problems creatively; and where faith, character, and compassion empower young women to lead lives of meaning and service.
From the moment I first walked through the doors of 1026 Fifth Avenue as a Butler Scholar nearly three decades ago, I knew I had found a place to call home. That sense of belonging and purpose has never left me, and it inspires my commitment to ensuring that every student experiences the same transformative education. I am thrilled that my two daughters will write their own Marymount stories as part of this lifelong sisterhood.
As the second lay head in the School’s history, I am honored to uphold and protect the mission and vision of the Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary as we educate young women who live with intention, lead with conviction, and serve with empathy. As we look ahead to our centennial this year, I am excited to celebrate the past, present, and future of our extraordinary school and to build on our legacy for the next hundred years!

Board of Trustees
Since 1969, Marymount School of New York has been independently incorporated under the direction of a Board of Trustees composed of parents, alumnae, members of the RSHM, and other education leaders. Marymount’s Board of Trustees ensures the School carries out its mission in all aspects of school life. The Board appoints and oversees the head of school, plans strategically for the future, and develops and stewards the School’s financial resources.
