In fulfillment of the RSHM mission, Marymount cultivates agents of change by awakening a consciousness of social justice in our students. They actively and compassionately respond to the needs of our world by building awareness about the many challenges in our local and global communities, advocating for those in need, and igniting action through hands-on service and philanthropic initiatives.

M-PACT
As their culminating social justice class project, Class X students participate in M-PACT (Marymount Philanthropy and Community Transformation). Each team chooses a local non-profit organization and conducts extensive research on its history, mission, programming, and finances. Teams create a multimedia presentation to advocate for their chosen organization. The winning organization receives a $5,000 grant and runners-up receive either a $2,500 or a $1,500 grant. The work of all groups is presented to the Bank of NY Mellon Wealth Management for consideration for further funding.
MADE
Launched in Summer 2025, Marymount’s Accelerator for Design and Entrepreneurship (MADE) is a partnership between the School and public, parochial, and charter schools in our East Harlem neighborhood. Funded in part by a grant from the E.E. Ford Foundation, MADE unlocks the transformative power of an entrepreneurial mindset as students work through design challenges, culminating in a final showcase where students have the opportunity to share their work with industry professionals and receive expert feedback.

Service Projects
Students in all four divisions are invited to participate in a variety of direct service projects to benefit our local community. Some examples include: Upper Mid students make sandwiches to fill a local community fridge; families sort and pack produce to be donated to shelters and soup kitchens around the city; Upper School students package leftover food from our cafeteria to donate to those in need.
Philanthropic Initiatives
Students spearhead philanthropic initiatives in all divisions to support charitable organizations in our community, including Rising Ground, Little Sisters of the Assumption, Ronald McDonald House, New York Common Pantry, Concrete Safaris, Kateri Residence, City Harvest, and more. Our ongoing partnership with the RSHM mission in Zimbabwe also provides enduring outreach opportunities.
