Marymount dedicates 14% of the operating budget each year to providing assistance to families who need support in making their daughter's dream become a reality. Approximately 24% of the student body receives need-based financial aid, and the average financial award is $34,500. Financial aid is available for students in Classes K-XII, and all applicants are welcome to apply.

  • What does tuition cover?

    Tuition at Marymount includes most of the expenses associated with school participation, including books, school-issued technology, all day trips and most overnight trips, team uniforms, daily food service, and Parents' Association fees.
  • What is the tuition payment schedule?

    A non-refundable deposit of $6,500 is required of all students when accepted by the School. This deposit is credited toward the November 2nd payment.

    Two-thirds of the annual tuition is due on May 1st and one-third (less the deposit) on November 2nd. No reduction and no refunds are made for absence or withdrawal before the end of the year.

    To spread your tuition payments over the course of the school year, Marymount offers a monthly payment plan that is administered by Smart Tuition.
  • How do I apply for financial aid at Marymount?

    All families seeking financial assistance must complete the TADS online questionnaire by December 1.

    Marymount’s Financial Aid Committee assesses TADS reports and does its best to put together financial packages reflective of individual families’ financial circumstances, aiming to distribute its resources to as many qualified families as possible.

    You may find the TADS’ step-by-step guide helpful. At the end of the application, you will be given instructions about submitting backup documents to TADS. Marymount School requires that you submit the following documents to TADS:
    1. a copy of last year’s IRS Form 1040 (including all schedules)
    2. a copy of last year’s W2 Forms
    3. a copy of your most recent pay stub(s) 
  • Is financial assistance available for non-tuition-related school expenses?

    Marymount is committed to ensuring that all of our families have the opportunity to be full participants in the school community. Accordingly, financial aid recipients are eligible for aid for many after-school programs and family events. One example of this is ensuring that Upper School students on financial aid are eligible to attend two domestic or international trips or global exchanges during their four years in the Upper School. Families who are admitted to Marymount will receive a comprehensive list of what programs and experiences are included in the financial aid package.
  • How is financial need assessed?

    All families seeking financial assistance are encouraged to complete the TADS online questionnaire. The Financial Aid Committee assesses TADS reports and does its best to put together financial packages reflective of individual families’ financial circumstances, aiming to distribute its resources to as many qualified families as possible.
  • How is financial assistance renewed each year?

    Each year, families seeking financial assistance need to re-submit their financial statements to TADS. Prior year tuition must be paid in full before new grants are awarded.
  • How much financial assistance do Marymount families receive?

    At Marymount, 14% of the tuition revenue is dedicated to supporting our families through financial assistance. Approximately 24% of the Marymount student body receives need-based financial aid. Financial aid is available for students in Classes K-XII, and all applicants are welcome to apply. Awards are based on demonstrated need and Marymount’s financial aid budget. Nursery and Pre-Kindergarten applicants are not eligible to receive aid. 
  • Can families who entered the School without financial assistance packages request financial assistance in later years?

    While the School makes every attempt to meet the needs of its families, the financial aid budget is limited. Students who initially enroll at Marymount without a financial aid package are eligible to apply for financial aid after two years of full-time enrollment at Marymount (Nursery and Pre-K enrollment does not count toward the two-year waiting period). Pre-existing financial needs that were not disclosed at the time of initial enrollment will not be considered when calculating grants. After the two-year waiting period, families must be able to demonstrate a significant change in financial circumstances in order to be considered for aid, and current tuition accounts must be up to date. 
  • If parents are separated, should both parents submit financial information to TADS and complete the Parent Profile on the online checklist?

    The Financial Aid Committee will take into consideration the assets and obligations of natural parents, custodial parents, non-custodial parents, step-parents, and legal guardians. All such parents/guardians are required to complete separate TADS applications in order to be considered for financial aid. Marymount will only award grants to applicants/students who have completed FA forms from all applicable parents/guardians. Each parent/guardian is also required to update the Parent Profile on the online checklist.
  • What if my partner/spouse stays at home?

    Marymount expects both parents to contribute financially to their child’s education. As such, foregone potential income is deducted for possible grants if a parent voluntarily does not work. (Exceptions may apply, including medical reasons, involuntary unemployment, and maternity/paternity leaves). When submitting an FA application, please submit in writing a letter explaining the reason for not working if you would like an exception to be considered.
  • If I’m not sure if my family will qualify for financial assistance, should I still apply?

    If your family needs financial assistance to make a Marymount education affordable, please submit your details in TADS. Without this important step in the financial assistance process, your family will not be considered for aid.
  • What should I do if I'm having trouble completing the application?

    For concerns about your TADS account, login, password, or missing documents, please contact TADS directly at 800-477-8237 or support@tads.com. Representatives are available Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. CT to assist you.
  • What if I miss the financial aid deadline?

    Completed financial aid applications must be submitted by the deadline in order to be considered. The deadline is December 1 for applicant families and December 15 for returning families. Late or incomplete applications may not be considered for aid.
     
  • When will I be notified of financial aid decisions?

    Returning students will be notified of their award with their re-enrollment contract, released in January. New students will receive notification with their acceptance letter and contract.
