Description

Marymount School of New York is seeking an experienced Upper School biology and physics educator to join our faculty. We seek joyful educators who are eager to collaborate with colleagues, model lifelong learning, show passion for innovative teaching, and make a commitment to meeting the needs and aspirations of each student.

Responsibilities

Teaching responsibilities typically include four course sections; possible teaching responsibilities include biology along with physics or advanced science electives. Depending on the expertise of the candidate and needs of the department, courses may also include other areas of science. Candidates should have a demonstrated commitment to addressing issues of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging within and outside the classroom. Marymount faculty are active participants in the school community, supporting students as advisors and club moderators, and taking an active role in school programs.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or higher in a related field and/or the teaching of science

  • Minimum of 2 years teaching biology at the high school level
  • Experience with teaching science electives is a plus
  • Excellent laboratory skills
  • Excellent organizational, written, and communication skills
  • An understanding of and commitment to cultural competency

Salary range: $90,000-110,000 annually
