Description

Marymount School of New York is seeking a dynamic and skilled art educator to join our Lower School faculty. Marymount's Lower School art program gives students multiple opportunities for creative self-expression and provides a broad foundation in visual arts and art-making. The ideal candidate is an artist who has experience working with a broad range of materials and processes and who is passionate about creating a joyful, supportive environment for students to practice new skills. Knowledge of the collection at The Metropolitan Museum of Art is a bonus. Candidates should be organized, energetic, caring, and collaborative, with excellent classroom management. The ability to work collaboratively with other Lower School faculty members is key, as the arts curriculum evolves to meet the needs of the curriculum and students. 

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in fine arts or art education 

  • Experience teaching Lower School or Lower School visual art
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to vary instructional methods
  • A demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion

Salary range: $65,000-90,000 annually
