On behalf of the Marymount Parents’ Association (PA), I would like to welcome you to the 2019-20 school year. Hopefully your summer was enriching and fulfilling and you are ready for what comes next. We are looking forward to reconnecting with returning families, as well as getting to know all our newcomers in the spirit of our wonderful community. All Marymount parents are members of the PA, and in the coming weeks, we invite you to explore various volunteer opportunities
that suit your interests and schedule. We welcome your energy, talents, and contributions. There is a PA Committees Open House on September 18 at 8:15 a.m.
- please stop by to learn how you can get involved in the many PA events that we sponsor throughout the year. A huge thank you to all Class Reps and Committee Chairs who have volunteered and are in place for this coming school year. It really does take a village!!
The PA plays a significant role in our community as the conduit for collaboration and communication between the parent body and the School. We sponsor numerous community-wide events and activities, such as the annual Benefit Gala, Book Fair, Christmas Fair, and three Parent Education Seminars. We have wonderful speakers lined up this year, and I encourage you to mark your calendar for the first talk in the PA Education Series with notable child development psychologist and author Dr. Lisa Damour on October 18. These workshops are open to all parents, and we hope you will attend, listen, ask questions and in general, learn ways to become more informed parents -- whether it be raising resilient and strong girls, managing the implications of technology and social media in our children's lives, or just being more mindful and aware of how to better support our children.
We look forward to seeing you all in the coming weeks and working with you in service to our school community. Enjoy the last days of summer!!
President, Parents' Association
