From soccer to fencing to track, the Marymount Lions collaborate with their teammates to compete with confidence. The athletics program promotes good health, encourages lifelong fitness, and provides opportunities for leadership. The School offers a dozen after-school sports in the AAIS league, including soccer, cross country, volleyball, tennis, basketball, swimming, fencing, winter track, softball, lacrosse, badminton, and track & field. Intramural play begins in Class IV and interscholastic competition starts in Class V. Junior varsity and varsity teams are offered in most sports. Facilities include two gymnasia, outdoor playing field and tennis court, dance studio, fitness center, and use of facilities in Central Park, Randall's Island, and other venues throughout New York City.
